We teach the children what can be recycled and what can’t be, we have conduct class recycling activities and send each student home with a waster management fridge magnet with the local recycle resources and what they can recycle at home.
We provide each classroom with a video presentation and a butterfly kit to help document the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly and once the butterflies hatch they get released in centers garden.
Where they learn the importance of a clean environment and why water and ocean conservation is important. Each classroom is provided a fish and fish tank to take care of for 2 months to better understand life below water.
We provide a field trip experience to Farmer Mikes U pick in Bonita Springs to introduce the importance of agriculture and farming to the students.
The students will be lead in a scavenger hunt for items that would be included in an emergency kit such as a flashlight, batteries, canned foods, water and more.
Unfortunately, our picnic tables at Veggie Village Community Garden which are essential for community workshops and gatherings, were severely impacted by Hurricane Helene and completely damaged by Hurricane Milton.
We’re raising $3,600 to replace them with four durable, commercial-grade round picnic tables that will withstand future storms. Each table costs $900. We ask that you help our fundraising efforts.
