The Healthy Earth Organization was started by Falon Tabares and John Harold, who love the Earth and care deeply about their community in Southwest Florida. Their passion led them to ask residents and local students what programs The Healthy Earth Organization should offer. They attended community events and local service-learning fairs and asked people what they felt their community truly needed. They listened carefully, collected the answers, and built the organization by letting the community decide. Each of our programs came directly from community members who believed these challenges could be solved by getting residents involved. To this day THEO still holds focus groups and community gaps discussions with community leaders and residents to make sure their work is still aligned with community needs.

Our mission is to empower young people and their families by providing accessible avenues to contribute to Southwest Florida's community, become stewards of our environment, and generate positive change.

 With 60% of U.S. youth concerned about climate change and unsure of how to help, we aim to empower them to take meaningful action and make a difference.
