Imagine a place where young adults learn job skills, families reconnect with fresh food, volunteers grow alongside their neighbors, and local produce stays in our community.

Infrastructure & Site Development
At The Healthy Earth Organization, we believe communities become stronger when people have access to fresh food, meaningful opportunities, and spaces that bring people together. That belief is what inspired us to begin building Cultiva Community Urban Farm.
Cultiva is more than an urban farm to us. It is the beginning of a healthier and more connected future for Southwest Florida. Over the last few years, our region has experienced repeated hurricanes, rising food costs, and growing barriers to accessing affordable fresh food. We have watched families struggle while also seeing how fragile our food systems can become during times of crisis. Instead of simply responding to these challenges temporarily, we wanted to help create a long-term community-centered solution.
Through Cultiva, we are working to grow fresh produce locally using regenerative and sustainable growing practices while creating a system that makes healthy food more accessible and affordable for our community. We are especially excited about our SNAP-supported program that helps EBT recipients with $20 worth of fresh produce for only $5. We believe every family deserves access to healthy food regardless of income.
What makes Cultiva different is that we are not only focused on growing food. We are focused on growing connection, opportunity, resilience, and community ownership around local food systems. Alongside food production, our long-term vision includes creating a small indoor community market where local residents can shop for fresh produce grown through Cultiva while also supporting local vendors and makers from across Southwest Florida. We want this future space to feel welcoming, community-centered, and deeply rooted in the people who live here.
We are also building opportunities for young adults, volunteers, and community members to learn about regenerative agriculture, sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community leadership through hands-on experiences and fellowship opportunities. Our hope is that Cultiva becomes a place where people not only access healthy food, but also discover purpose, connection, and pathways toward a healthier future for themselves and their community.
The Healthy Earth Organization already works with more than 1,400 volunteers annually through community gardens, environmental education programs, fresh food initiatives, and coastal cleanups throughout Southwest Florida, with projections to engage over 1,600 volunteers in 2026. Cultiva builds upon this strong community foundation while helping us create a more resilient and locally driven food system for future generations.
At its heart, Cultiva is about reconnecting people back to what matters most: food, nature, and community. We truly believe that small community-centered solutions can grow into transformational change, and we are excited to continue building a model that can inspire healthier, more resilient communities far beyond Southwest Florida.
Cultiva was created to address growing challenges in Southwest Florida, including food insecurity, limited access to fresh produce, workforce development gaps, and the disconnect between people and local food systems. Through farming, education, and community engagement, Cultiva will help create a healthier, more resilient future for our region.
Cultiva will provide hands-on workforce training, increase access to locally grown food, create volunteer opportunities, support environmental stewardship, and strengthen connections between residents and their food system. Our goal is to create lasting benefits for individuals, families, and the broader community.
Cultiva is designed to serve a diverse range of community members, including young adults exploring career pathways, students seeking hands-on learning experiences, volunteers looking to give back, and community members interested in sustainable agriculture and local food systems. Whether you're learning, growing, volunteering, or building workforce skills, there is a place for you at Cultiva.
Cultiva will grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and specialty crops selected to thrive in Southwest Florida's climate. Crop selections may evolve over time based on community needs, educational opportunities, and market demand, with a focus on providing fresh, locally grown food while creating meaningful learning and workforce development experiences.
Cultiva is supported through a combination of grants, charitable donations, sponsorships, community partnerships, and earned revenue generated through farm operations. As the project grows, initiatives such as produce sales, educational programming, and the future Cultiva Indoor Market will help strengthen long-term sustainability while supporting our mission of building a stronger local food system.
